The outdoor courts are located in Horatio Seymour Park and were completed this fall, following the explosive growth of pickleball across the nation.
The splashpad is being built using funds from the American Rescue Plan Act and is part of the Utica Prosperity Initiative.
The City of Utica’s Urban Renewal Agency has approved the sale of Kennedy Parking Garage to Mohawk Valley Health System for $1.5 million.
The dog park consists of separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs and is the latest of several additions to T.R. Proctor Park. Use of the dog park is restricted to dogs that are licensed by the City Clerk’s office.
The total renovation will cost nearly $20 million, and work was started last week. Earlier this year, New York State’s Empire State Development announced that the project had been awarded a $3 million through the Restore New York Communities Initiative grant and was previously awarded a $1 million capital grant.
The City will continue to work with relevant stakeholders in the district to make Varick Street as vibrant and enjoyable as possible.
The alley will take on a theme of the Erie Canal, which is a big part of Utica’s history and its Downtown.
Addison Miller pool is re-opening tomorrow, Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
The shift to pedestrian-only traffic will be done on a trial basis this weekend. The City will evaluate the change and consider its merits going forward.
