The City of Utica is pleased to share that all former residents—and their pets—of the Algonquin building have been successfully relocated to safe and reliable housing.
Mayor Galime and Administration Continue to See Progress at Algonquin Thanks to Use of Nuisance Abatement Tools
Last week, Mayor Galime and the City’s Assistant Corporation Counsel, Mark Chieco, met directly with the property owner to establish a clear and enforceable timeline for necessary repairs. The first step in that process—further securing the building and painting boarded windows and doors to improve aesthetics—was completed this past weekend.
This progress has been made possible through the City’s strategic use of its nuisance abatement powers, reinforcing our commitment to holding property owners accountable and ensuring housing quality and safety for Utica residents.
The City of Utica is pleased to share that all former residents—and their pets—of the Algonquin building have been successfully relocated to safe and reliable housing.
We remain committed to seeing the Algonquin—an important housing resource in our community—rehabilitated and brought back to its full potential. The City will continue to monitor progress and collaborate with all stakeholders to achieve meaningful, long-term solutions.
