The City of Utica is excited to announce that Santa Claus is coming to town!

“This year, there will be several opportunities to see Santa Claus in Bagg’s Square, at the heart of the City of Utica, through three events hosted by the City of Utica in collaboration with community partners: the Utica Comets, Utica City FC, and ICAN,” stated Mayor Galime.

On December 3rd, 10th, and 17th, Santa Claus will visit the historic Bagg’s Tavern at 311 Main Street, Utica, NY (next to Tailor and the Cook) from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Hot chocolate and candy canes will be provided each week, along with special activities:

  • December 3rd Santa will be joined by the Utica Comets with mascot Naudie, and on December 10th Santa will be with Utica City FC with their mascot Keeper.
  • December 10th: In addition to the Comets and Utica City FC, the evening will feature carriage rides by South Trenton Carriage Company, sponsored by 23rd District County Legislator Michael Gentile.
  • December 17th: ICAN will host a selfie and craft station for children who wish to participate.

All events are free of charge and open to the public.

Mayor Galime added, “In the absence of the Christmas on Main Street organization holding their yearly event at Union Station, we felt it was very necessary to keep holiday traditions alive in Bagg’s Square. I am thrilled that the community has come together to make these events happen, and I look forward to seeing new and historic traditions thrive together in the future.”

The City of Utica is also pleased to announce that on December 19th, the Christmas on Main Street organization is holding the annual Christmas at City Hall in which Santa will visit a fourth time!  Pease look for more information from their organization soon.
