MAYOR PALMIERI ANNOUNCES RENOVATION & EXPANSION
OF BERTOLINI CLUBHOUSE

Mayor Robert Palmieri today announced a major renovation and expansion project at the
Bertolini Clubhouse at Valley View Golf Course.

The project includes an addition of approximately 6,000 square feet, which will make the
total size of the facility 22,500 square feet. The renovations will incorporate additional
space for the main entrance at the parking lot level and an elevator to the main upper
floor.

Other amenities will include a new grill room and bar for golfers and patrons, additional
restrooms, space for golf simulators, new windows and standing seam metal roof for the
existing structure and an outdoor (covered) patio area with a gas fire place.
The expansion and renovations will be handicap accessible and in compliance with all
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.

This project is part of the Utica Prosperity Initiative. The total investment of the project
is over $2 million with the majority of funding utilized from the American Rescue Plan
Act (ARPA). It is important to note, in the aftermath of COVID-19, there was an
increased utilization of the golf course, and the city has a vested interest in continuing
this trend.

Bids for the construction of the project will be available on September 13th and are due on
October 6th. The bid is scheduled to be awarded on October 13th.

In addition, the city will be issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to determine the best
use and management of the facility. The city encourages any interested parties to share
their ideas by submitting a proposal. The RFP will be issued in the next several weeks
and will encompass relevant details.

Mayor Palmieri stated, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the city to upgrade
the facility and amenities at Bertolini Clubhouse. When I speak to our golfers, they love
Valley View Golf Course but repeatedly express the need for better amenities. This
investment will provide such assets and foster continued sustainability for the golf
course.”

Mayor Palmieri continued, “We all have a desire to attract a reputable, efficient and
customer-friendly management team for the Bertolini Clubhouse. By making a major
investment, the city will solicit better proposals which will enhance the overall operation
of the golf course. I encourage everyone who is interested in managing the Bertolini
Clubhouse to submit a proposal for the city to review."
