City Seeking Partner to Operate Valley View Clubhouse / Banquet Facility

The City of Utica is looking for a partner interested in operating the soon-to-be newly renovated Valley View Clubhouse and the accompanying banquet/restaurant/bar space. Interested parties are encouraged to respond to the city’s request for proposals, which can be picked up at the the city’s Department of Engineering at City Hall.

The winning proposal will have shown capacity and creativity in designing a plan to service golfers and guests seeking concessions as well as the top-floor event space. The clubhouse building, located on Valley View Golf Course, is situated in historic Roscoe Conkling Park. Earlier this year, the city announced a multi-million dollar plan to include golf simulators, a new kitchen for the snack bar, facade improvements and roadway and parking lot upgrades.

The winning proposal will enter into a lease agreement with the city to operate the premises for a period of time. Proposals will be judged based on:

• The proposed compensation to the city
• Experience in the industry
• Creative use of the premises

Potential partners are encouraged to propose themes, events and uses for the space that may be unique or different than previous tenants. The clubhouse is located on parkland and has served as a staple for public events including high school dances, weddings, ceremonies and various events. The service of the golfers as well as the general benefit to the public is of utmost concern in finding a partner.

Good luck to potential applicants!

Mayor Robert M. Palmieri said: “The City of Utica is blessed to have a municipal golf course as pristine as Valley View. The clubhouse has made as many memories for people in Utica as the course itself, if not more. We want to make sure it’s in good hands and it continues to create memories for generations to come.”
