City of Utica Statement

The City of Utica expresses appreciation for the contributions and vibrancy that refugees and immigrants have brought to the city and the Mohawk Valley region.  

As a warm, generous and welcoming community, we thank The Center for the great work it does in assimilating refugees and immigrants into our Utica family. 

We further recognize the struggles refugees and displaced people around the globe face every day, and we strive for humane solutions to their suffering.

The city supports The Center and its virtual event, “A Walk in Their Words”, in honor of World Refugee Day. 

The event will be held Saturday, June 20^th, and we encourage the community to participate.  More information can be found at www.awalkintheirwords.org
