In accordance with the requirements contained in Section 2-29-44 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Utica, the applicant is seeking approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness in order to make exterior improvements at the above referenced property.
The applicant is proposing to repair and restore the damaged and collapsed brick on the exterior of the building. Existing brick on the property will be utilized to replace any damaged brick that needs replacing. They are proposing to replace the existing windows with a black aluminum or fiberglass clad luxury downtown style window. The doors will be replaced with wood doors. The trim of the building will be painted black; similar to several buildings in the Baggs Square District.

In accordance with the requirements contained in Section 2-29-44 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Utica, the applicant is seeking approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness in order to install signage at the above referenced property.
The applicant is proposing to install internally illuminated 18” channel letters mounted to a raceway. The total size of the sign will be 1’6” x 18’ 8 1/8”. The raceway will be painted to match the building color to blend. The sign will read “DOLLAR GENERAL”. The letters will be yellow acrylic face with semi-glass black returns.

In accordance with the requirements contained in Section 2-29-44 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Utica, the applicant is seeking approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness in order to legitimize the installation of a fence and the painting of the exterior of the buildings.
The applicant has installed a 5’ high black chain link fence on the Oneida Street side of the property. The applicant stated that they have had issues with pedestrians walking through the property between Oneida and Kemble Street. They wanted to enclose the area for the safety of their residents.
The applicant has also painted the exterior of the buildings blue and kept the trim/shutter color red.
