The 2013 Memorial Day Parade being presented by the American Legion Utica Post #229 takes place on Monday May 31st.
The parade steps off at 2:00 from Genesee and South Streets to proceed south on Genesee Street to the Memorial Parkway. The marching units will turn left on the Parkway and proceed east to the WWI/WWII/Korean War Monument. The marching units will disband in front of the YMCA. The parade is anticipated to take 1-1 ½ hours to complete.
In honor of Memorial Day, American Legion Post #229will be laying wreaths at 11:00 at 5 local military monuments (Soldier and Sailors/Oneida Square, the Vietnam Monument, the POW/MIA Monument, the WWI/WWII/Korean War Monument and the Honoring All Veterans Monument located at Utica’s Main Post Office.
