MAYOR PALMIERI ANNOUNCES CITY LIQUORS RIBBON CUTTING

Mayor Palmieri today announced the grand opening/ribbon cutting for City Liquors at their new location at 1905 Genesee Street (Price Chopper Plaza in south Utica).

City Liquors is owned by Kevin Hughes and was first opened in 2006.  The store was previously located on Oneida Street.

The new store is over 5,000 square foot and has more parking, interior space to shop and selection.  The store was effectively reorganized to let people see what they're looking for and includes a longer check-out area, new refrigerated coolers and more isle space for a better shopping experience.

In addition, there will be 15 feet of refrigerated space for wine and sparkling wines, plus an expanded selection of premium boxed wines."

Mayor Palmieri stated, “It is great to see another business expand and grow in our community.  I thank Kevin Hughes for choosing to stay and invest in Utica.”

City Liquors Owner Kevin Hughes stated, "City Liquors new location is an ideal destination that's easily accessible to the newly revitalized South Utica community.  We are excited about coming to South Utica and providing consumers with what they deserve; service, selection, price and an outstanding customer experience.  We're extremely grateful for all the community support that has been given to us over the past 13 years to help us transition to our new location.  We have the best customers and we couldn't have gotten here without their support!"
