MAYOR PALMIERI & DPW COMMISSIONER DAVE SHORT ANNOUNCE NEW GREEN WASTE PICK-UP SCHEDULE
CITY OF UTICA ANNOUNCES DATES FOR GREEN WASTE PICK-UP
The City of Utica’s Department of Public Works announces that the Annual Spring Green Waste Pick-Up will officially begin on April 18th.
Residents are cautioned not to put out waste for collection before April 18th. Households not complying with that regulation face a possible citation.
Mayor Robert Palmieri & DPW Commissioner Dave Short today announced the new green waste pick-up schedule for the fall 2015 and spring 2016 season.
Starting Sunday September 27th-December 3rd residents can place non-containerized green waste at the curb. Outside of this time frame, all green waste must be in containers.
Allowable bulk green waste items include grass clippings, leaves, weeds, flowers and bundled limbs and branches no longer than 4’ and under 50 lbs.
Items such as shrubs, stumps, logs and trees are not allowed. If residents have these large green waste items they can call Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority at 315-731-0238 to schedule a pickup (a nominal fee is charged for this service).
More information about the green waste pickup schedule and guidelines will be posted on the City’s website.
