David R. Roefaro, Mayor
City of Utica, New York
09/11/09 - Roefaro to walk in 'National Recovery Month' event

Mayor Roefaro will be speaking Saturday Morning at Utica's Recovery Advocacy Network morning walk, which is being held in honor of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month.

Mayor Roefaro has long believed that just because someone has been at the mercy of an addiction, doesn't mean they can't overcome it, and break away.

"I want residents to know that my administration supports the recovery of people who seek it. I mean it when I say, "We're in this together." It's not easy breaking a habit, but it's easier when the city you live in believes you can do it. My office remains accessible now, and always, to anyone who is having trouble navigating the sometimes, scary maze of recovery," the mayor said.

Below is the Proclamation the Mayor will read at tomorrow's Saturday morning walk.
