07/12/09 - Fallen Stars Tribute

                 Fallen Stars Tribute

On Display in City Hall for Two Weeks

July 13, 2009- (Utica, NY)Utica Mayor David Roefaro is proud to announce that he has secured the “Fallen Stars Tribute” wall for two weeks. The large display has traveled over 7,000 miles around New York State, and now bestows the City Hall lobby with its presence.

The wall, which depicts all 233 New York residents killed in both Afghanistan and Iraq since President George W. Bush declared war, is a testament to all service men and women around New York who have sacrificed their own lives for this country.

The names and photos central New Yorkers are so painfully aware off can be seen on the mobile wall.

In two weeks, the wall will continue its travels around New York in honor of the brave men and women fighting for our country.

The Mayor would also to thank the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross is the only organization charged by Congress to navigate the cumbersome paperwork, and verification process to bring troops home unexpectedly when family emergencies arise.
