Lorrie was born Lorraine Hess in Utica NY, the daughter of Joseph Hess and Mary Dressel. She is a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy, Mohawk Valley Community College and Utica College of Syracuse University with degrees in Nursing and Human Studies.

Lorrie has served our community as a Registered Nurse and in Nursing Management for years in both acute and long term care. When Lorrie was first elected as a Council at Large, she left nursing and took her vast healthcare and management experience to the Insurance Industry, where she works to keep the cost of healthcare affordable for all of us. She has also served with various healthcare related boards and organizations in the community.

As a four term Council at Large, she has held various leadership and committee positions including former Minority Leader, former Chair and current Vice Chair of Codes and Neighborhood Revitalization, current Chair of Public Works and seats on Committees including Urban and Economic Development, Finance and Downtown Utica Development.

While Lorrie has had many professional and political accomplishments, she is most proud of her family including her husband, 4 children and 4 grandchildren. They all reside in Utica.
