The City of Utica Codes Department works closely with property owners, neighborhood groups and organizations in an attempt to improve the appearance and safety of all buildings and property within the City of Utica.

Building plan review and inspection of building construction within the city is also a responsbility of the Codes Department.

The Codes Department also works with the Oneida County Department of Social Services to make routine inspections of all dwellings of recipients of programs and services offered by Oneida County.
